23th May Call-Out - Towcester Police search for missing person from a home.
24th May Stand-by - Towcester Police stand-by for search for another missing person.
26th November Call-Out - Daventry Police search for "Body" alongside the Railway from Whilton Locks to Watford Gap. The "Body
" turned out tobe a pink blanket under a hedge, but 2 passengers on an Intercity train thought they had seen a body.
1996
August Northampton Balloon Festival - Unfortunate accident on site involving an Army lorry and several spectators, one child unfortunately died of his injuries the following day. The Team were praised for the way in which they dealt with the incident in partnership with the Emergency Services.
1997
No special events but training and duties continued.
1998
Easter Floods
Thursday 2100 - 2330hrs
Stand-by - Team stood by at Westbridge Depot, stood down by Police Control.
Friday 0100hrs.
Stand-by - Team stood by to evacuate Billing Aquadrome, in the end team not required.
0245hrs. Call-out - Team called out to St. James due to major flooding. Arrive at Westbridge cannot get into depot due to
flood water. Team
members climb rear gates to rescue Ambulances, borrow Fire Brigade bolt cutters to open the gates to drive Ambulances out through 15” of water. This was over 3 feet deep 15 minutes later.
Jobs carried out by the Team over the next 14 hours.
- Transported elderly and disabled residents to Rest Centre.
- Triaged patients coming off the boats as to Paramedic, First Aid treatment or transport on buses to Rest Centres.
- Travelled on boats with Fire Officers to assess patients for evacuation.
- Treatment of minor casualties.
- Transport of other casualties to A & E at NGH.
Left site approx. 1600 hrs. for rest.
Friday Midnight
- Report to Campbell Square Police
- Report then to Bronze Control at the station.
- Patrol the evacuated streets with Police
- Man the Road Closures
- Transport Patient in the early hours to Rest Centre
Left site at Saturday morning 1000hrs. when the waters had subsided after a further 14 hours shift.
31st July-1st August Call-Out - Team called out to Billing Aquadrome to assis in the search for a missing child. The team
were on site for 2 days and took our Control Unit which was in the process of being converted.
The team were involved in the following jobs:
- Searching Factories and Fields
- Road Search in a 5 mile radius
- Caravan to caravan enquiries with Police Officers
1st September Call-Out - Team called out to search for missing child at Spencer Estate, Northampton.
1999
October-December Members of the team went out on the emergency ambulances to gain experience for working with Two Shire over the Millennium period.
Millennium Celebrations
The Team provided 7 members to man the Casualty Unit with Two Shires and St. John at the Guildhall on Millennium
Night.
In recognition Two Shires donated one of their Ambulances to the Team.
