Northampton Emergency Aid Team also provides an emergency "call out" system to the Emergency Services should they require the team.s assistance. The team aim, to have a team of 8 members en route to an incident within half an hour of an emergency call. This system is operated 24 hours a day all year round. Most members have permission to leave work or college should the need arise.

Operations the team has assisted with are searches for missing persons, flooding, major incident exercises, such as Rail Incidents and training sessions following the Northampton Floods for a better response should they occur again in the County.

The team was involved with rescues from the 1998 Easter Floods in Northampton. Members were involved in assessing the casualties as they were brought ashore from the boats and transporting them to hospital or rest centres. Others were on boats with Fire Officers going to the rescue of people with known medical problems throughout the night. The following night the team provided Security Patrols and stewarding for the Road Closures under the direction of the Police.
